I chose to paint this rose from above, as I often do, not as a background element but as the subject itself—frontal, intimate, and unmistakably present. Seen this way, the flower becomes almost abstract in its structure, demanding your full attention. It’s a reminder that beauty is not always soft or passive. Sometimes, it looks right back at you.
